Astraeon Interactive Starlathe

Starlathe Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

Summary

Starlathe contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The game plays entirely on your PC. The only time it sends anything to us is when it crashes: it then uploads a technical crash report so we can find and fix the problem. You can turn that off in the game's settings.

Who we are

Starlathe is developed and published by Astraeon Interactive Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong (Business Registration No. 80632675), at Suite C, Level 7, World Trust Tower, 50 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that company.

What the game stores on your PC

Starlathe saves the following files on your own computer so it can remember your game:

These files stay on your PC. We cannot read them, and they are not uploaded anywhere by us. If Steam Cloud is enabled for the game, Steam may copy your saves to your own Steam account under Steam's own privacy policy. Uninstalling the game and deleting its save folder removes all of it.

Crash reports

If Starlathe crashes, it automatically sends a crash report to our server at astraeoninteractive.com so that the problem can be fixed, even if you never report it yourself. A crash report contains:

As with any connection to a server, our server also records the IP address the report came from and the time it arrived. We use it only to stop abuse (for example, to limit how many reports one address can send) and to tell separate crashes apart.

Crash reports never contain your saves, your payment details, your Steam password or your email address. They are used only to diagnose and fix bugs, are seen only by the Starlathe development team, and are never sold or shared with advertisers. We keep them only for as long as they are useful for fixing problems in the game.

You can stop crash reports from being sent automatically under Settings → General → Send Crash Reports. When it is off, a crash report is only saved on your PC, and the crash window lets you choose whether to send that one report.

Steam

Starlathe is sold and delivered through Steam, operated by Valve Corporation. Your purchase, your Steam account, achievements and playtime are handled by Steam under Valve's privacy policy. The game talks to the Steam client on your PC to unlock achievements; your Steam account details are never sent to us. We never see or store your payment details.

Discord

If the Discord app is running on your PC, Starlathe can show your Discord friends that you are playing it. This is called Discord Rich Presence. The game tells the Discord app on your own computer what you are doing in Starlathe — for example "Flying in Draco Gate" or "Docked at Trading Hub", the ship you fly, and how long you have been playing — and Discord shows that on your profile under Discord's privacy policy. This status passes from the game to Discord only; it is never sent to us.

You can turn it off at any time under Settings → General → Discord Status. When it is off, the game clears your status and stops talking to Discord. The Discord button in the main menu simply opens the official Starlathe Discord server in your web browser. Anything you post on our Discord server is visible to its members and moderators under Discord's rules.

Third parties

Starlathe includes no advertising networks, analytics services or tracking software. Apart from Steam and the crash reports described above, the game makes no internet connections; Discord Rich Presence talks only to the Discord app on your own PC.

Children

Starlathe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Crash reports are technical and are not linked to anyone's identity.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what crash reports we hold that came from you, and ask us to delete them. Because reports are not tied to an account, please include the report ID shown in the crash window, or the approximate date and time of the crash, so we can find yours. Depending on where you live, data-protection law may give you further rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be announced on the game's Steam page.
